Jacksonville, Florida’s Vanish Twin keep things simple and volatile. Formed in summer 2024, the band grew out of longtime friendships and years spent playing in various local projects. This time, the mission was clear. “We’ve all been friends for years and played in different genre bands together,” drummer Alex Leary explains to No Echo. “We started Vanish Twin because we wanted to do a punk/hardcore band that sounded like the stuff we listened to as kids.”
That youthful urgency pulses through their sound. “Angry and to the point,” Leary says of the band’s approach. Channeling influences like Trash Talk, Spy, Last Lights, The Rival Mob, and Outbreak, Vanish Twin deliver stripped-down, no-frills aggression—never overstaying their welcome.

Exit Sign was recorded by John Howard at War House Recordings in Gainesville, and its cover art was done by Alexander Shea, and can be seen below.
The LP’s lyrics dig inward as much as they lash outward. “The lyrical content is a lot about struggle and anger with both yourself and society, and things out of your control,” Leary says.
Vanish Twin are emerging from a northern Florida scene that’s thriving. “The Jacksonville scene is very healthy right now and there’s no shortage of good bands in our area,” Leary notes, pointing to St. Clovis, Step 2 This, Face Dancer, and Unregistered Weapon as acts worth checking out.
