Connected by a penchant for ultra-melodic and energetic hardcore, starsixtynine is a new project by musicians Jacob Weston (Silktail, Drop Rate) and Alex Larson (Moral Pollution, Wounded Touch).
A burst of creativity culmulated in a 2-week writing and recording process that birthed starsixtynine's first three songs. The songs were written with the goal of paying tribute to Jacob’s melodic-minded influences. "I wrote songs that paid tribute to the kind of hardcore that has always resonated with the most," says Jacob. "Lifetime and Shook Ones are two of my all-time favorites, tied to some of my most positive memories. Add a little Death Is Not Glamorous, a touch of The Movielife and you get starsixtynine."
After he laid down the tracks at his home studio set up, Jacob emailed the files to Alex who tracked the live drums in his studio, Bright Black Earth Studio in Saginaw, Michigan.
