Last year, I chatted with comedian Stanley Sievers on No Echo about his "Mosh Retirement Guy" character that had found a big audience on TikTok. The former Dead Icons bassist has turned his viral hit into a new 22-minute film called The Moshumentary done in the style of ESPN's beloved 30 for 30 documentary series.
"Growing up, I always loved mockumentaries like This is Spinal Tap, Best in Show, Reno 911!, and Waiting for Guffman," says Stanley about the inspiration behind the project.
The Moshumentary features appearances from actors seen on such TV shows as Fargo, Mayans MC, and Better Call Saul, as well as cameos from members of the hardcore/metal community including Akil Godsey (End It), Chad Green (Frozen Soul), and Brendan Murphy (Counterparts).
