"Polish is for people with short attention spans who seek chaos." That's how drummer Eddie Eaton bluntly sums up his band's stylistic approach. It's fitting since Polish skates the edges of power violence and grindcore with deranged focus.
The Denver, Colorado-based trio has been working together since 2023, releasing their self-titled EP later that year. With Eddie holding down the drum throne, Polish eschew guitars and instead feature two bassist in their lineup: Issac Roybal and Dante DeLaurier.
"Being a drum and two-bass band rooted in violence, Polish has a ton of different influences," Eddie says. "To mention some, I would say Smear Campaign, the entire Convulse Records catalogue, ArnoXDubel, Sex Prisoner, Asbestos, Glue, Spazz, Livid, Nails, 10TTC, Scalp, Gulch, and more.
"When we write, we try to write something that can be fast, pissed off, but still make you want to dance. Most of our songs are not over a minute long on this release. It is an absolute crusher and over before you even realize it. FFO being pissed and doomscrolling."
Polish just dropped their debut album, a 10-track ripper called Decay, that clocks in just over the 10-minute mark:
"We recorded Decay in July of 2024 at LikeMinded Company with Trae. He produced the entire thing, made the Decay music video, and laid down the session guitar for us. Four of the songs off this release are re-recordings of our original Polish EP. We've spent our fair share of time with these songs, playing over 100 gigs with them around the US.
"All of these songs have double names too, 'Avarice' already being released but known as 'Fucked Up Looking Cat' on the No Time For Fun Vol. 10 compilation. Luckily enough, we have Tommy from No Time Records helping us out with physical media. We have Splatter Red and White 12" vinyl and cassettes available on the No Time webstore."

If you pay attention to the US hardcore scene, you already know the Mile High City has been bringing the heat in recent years, and Eddie confirms it. "The Denver scene is thriving now more than ever. This last Wednesday (3/5), we played with SPY, Destiny Bond, and Ukko's Hammer at the Marquis Theater in Denver. It was so much fun to have so many friends in the same room, all there having a great time.
"We are so grateful to have such an amazing scene like we have in Denver, especially while keeping it DIY. There is still plenty more music, of all varieties, in Denver that all have fantastic scenes. Some locals on the come-up we love are FLAK, RVBOMB, Sewerslide, Backlip, Pig Splitter, Undissassembled, War Machine, Asbestos, Crypts of Golgatha, The Consequence, Direct Threat, Candy Apple, and Smear Campaign."

Speaking of their hometown: "We had our album art done by a local artist friend, Ella May. Truly one of the best in the game, and she helped make the idea really come to life."
