A big congrats going out to Hundreds of AU who have just inked a deal with Iodine Recordings. If you aren't already familiar with the New Jersey-based outfit, the band features musicians who have also played in You and I, Hell Mary, and Black Kites, playing a screamo-meets-post-hardcore sound that is chaotic and often epic in its delivery and arrangement style.
Hundreds of AU will be releasing a new album in 2025 through the new label which is a great fit for the group since Iodine Recordings has also issued titles by Jeromes Dream, Love Letter, and Quicksand in the last year or so.
While the LP isn't ready just yet, Iodine Recordings is still hooking us up with a new Hundreds of AU track called "Wake Today" which will be offered as a limited edition flexi 7”. Anyone who orders from the label and Deathwish mail-order online stores will get a copy of the flexi for free while they last. Pretty cool.
Check out "Wake Today" in all its glory below:
Hundreds of AU vocalist Brian Burdzy shared the following about the song with No Echo:
"The lyrics in 'Wake Today' paint a bleak picture, forecasting a dystopian tomorrow brought on by right wing extremism. It was written prior to Project 2025 becoming talking point on the most recent campaign trail.
"If we continue to turn the other cheek when it comes to exclusionary social politics, it will only serve to separate us from each other. We should be standing 10 toes down with those who are under the boots of our would-be fascist regime. It’s a song that forcefully addresses the existential crisis we find ourselves in."
Check out Iodine Recordings, pick something up, and get a copy of the "Wake Today" flexi.
