Band: Bloodwork
From: Providence, Rhode Island
Their formation story:
"The band started outside AS220 in Providence. Dan, our bassist, and Albe, our guitarist, have been going to shows together since the early 2000s. We met our singer, Jaques Thomas, because he was wearing the same Haywire jersey as his homie at a Jivebomb show.
"After chatting for a bit, we exchanged contact info and started kicking around the idea of forming a band. Jaques mentioned he had a friend, Tim (aka Timebomb Tim), who was a real riffer. Dan recruited our drummer, Dom, whom he's known since the early '00s, and we’ve been making music ever since.
Their sound in their own words:
"I’d say we’re a mix of old-school metalcore with a new-age twist. Our influences are pretty all over the place, but we draw closest from bands like Kickback, Disembodied, and One King Down, along with Fatal Realm, Holder, and My Hands Were Tied."
Latest release info:
"Till the End... was recorded DIY at the Bloodhaus in Cranston, Rhode Island. We chose to record this one live to capture a raw feel. We’re blessed to have Timebomb in the band because he’s a wiz when it comes to recording, mixing, and mastering."
Future plans:
"Right now, we’re working on two new songs for a winter promo. We just finished up a track called 'Stained Glass' that we’re all really proud of. We also have a show coming up on December 19 in Providence with some really sick bands."
What other bands from your region should we check out?
"Coming from New England, it would literally be impossible to narrow it down. There are awesome new bands popping up all the time.
"Our December 19 show is headlined by Riverbed, with support from us, New Reality, Vital Needs, and Backdraft. Check all those bands out and get to the gig."
