MISERE may be a new name, but the Ludwigsburg, Germany-based band is made up of veterans of the country's DIY hardcore scene, including members of Cages, We Had A Deal, and Schönleben.
Their music draws clear lines to bands like The Saddest Landscape, Yage, Caravels, and Just Went Black, blending cathartic energy with sharp melodies and shifting structures. Instead of leaning on aggression for its own sake, MISERE’s songs build on vulnerability and tension.
On “Hoffnungstragen,” MISERE deliver a song that constantly evolves throughout its runtime. Straightforward and urgent passages give way to wider, more expansive moments, with the band’s interplay generating a sense of motion that never feels restless for its own sake.

The band explains that “Hoffnungstragen” is rooted in persistence rather than resolution. The song’s central figure continues onward despite the weight they carry, not because the burden has become lighter, but because setting it down is no longer an option.
