Krime: Dutch Band Drops Killer Catchy Hardcore Punk on New Demo

On No Echo's endless mission of helping to introduce our readers to new bands, today brings us to Krime, a hardcore band based out of the Netherlands that formed in early 2024. "We had been friends for a long time and shared a lot of good times together," guitarist Bas tells No Echo. "We played together in bands like Citizens Patrol and Brat Pack (2007-2014).

"Kenny and me also were in a post-punk band called The Establishment. We were talking about doing a hardcore band again, and since I was already doing another project with Tommy and Koen, we ditched that and started working together on Krime songs."

Krime released their 4-song demo a few weeks back, showcasing a killer sound that leans on the punkier side of hardcore with melody coursing through. There are some dissonant riff parts that are especially potent. "I guess our sound will appeal to fans of current bands like Long Knife, Syndrome 81, The Chisel, Night Birds, Annihilation Time, Night Fever, and Career Suicide," says Bas.

"We're influenced by 5 decades of punk and hardcore. To name a few: Poison Idea, RKL, Agent Orange, and Cro-Mags, but also bands like Wipers and Motörhead left their mark on our songwriting."

Bas and the rest of Krime are gearing up for a fun year. "We got a bunch of shows coming up. Besides that we're working on songs for a new release. We hope to hit the studio again in the first half of 2025."

As with most No Echo stories, I asked what other bands we should check out from Krime's region. Bas shoots off these picks: "The Covids, Savage Beat, Third Ego, Richie Dagger, Vitamin X, and Pressure Pact are pretty cool bands!"
