When you have hardcore musicians with the pedigree the members of SMOKE AxD carry, expectations are undoubtedly high (no pun intended). The group is the brainchild of bassist Hoya Roc (ex-Madball, Dmize), guitarist Sean Martin (ex-Hatebreed, Twitching Tongues), and vocalist Danny Diablo (Crown of Thornz, Skarhead).
Delivering a vicious strain of metallic hardcore, SMOKE AxD will have just announced the forthcoming release of their debut EP, Vaya Con Dios.
"This is hands-down, the hardest music I've ever written," says Hoya of the EP. "I never went in on my music, lyrically and sonically like I did on these tracks. And I'm only getting started." SMOKE AxD ended last year by dropping their first track, the fittingly titled "Smoke All Day."
Today sees the release of "The Codes We Chose," another taste of their Vaya Con Dios EP, which will arrive in May:
Produced by Zeuss (Municipal Waste, Death Before Dishonor), Vaya Con Dios features guest drums courtesy of Riggs Ross (Hatebreed, Madball) and Dimi Douvas (Crown of Thonrz, Stillsuit).
Vaya Con Dios will be released on digital and limited edition Blackout! Records vinyl on May 7th (pre-order).
