Founded in 2016, Numb Generation is a Houston, Texas-based band that has experienced several lineup changes. "I play guitar and vocals, and I am the only original member remaining," Danny G. tells No Echo. "We’ve also gone through a couple of hiatuses, and two members have taken over bass (Tyler) and drums (Charles).
"We are currently a 3-piece band, which is not a common thing around here, especially in our style of hardcore. Numb Generation, to me, has always meant the exact opposite. We’re a no-standing-still band. Our performances are energy-based, and we jump around and have fun regardless of whether we play to a crowded room or to 3 people on a Monday night."
Speaking on Numb Generation's influences, Danny says: "When this band started, our main influence was Turnstile. These days, bands like Backtrack, Trapped Under Ice, SPEED, Guilt Trip, and Grove Street have been major influences. Our sound is thrashy with a lot of speed and hard, two-step parts, but we also incorporate breakdowns and heavy chorus parts."
Numb Generation just dropped True 2 The Game, featuring three songs that were performed in 2016-2017 but were scrapped and never recorded at the time. The second cut, "Made with Hate," was the first song written with the 2025 lineup. "Michael Alexander recorded us in our jam room he is plays in bands too and recording with someone who plays hardcore music also is so much easier. He understood what we were trying to accomplish."
As far as their local heavy music community, Danny is feeling good about things. "The Houston scene is thriving like never before. Every single band is just out here putting in work. Claymore, Pressure Code, By the Sword, and No Reason are a few of the many bands to definitely check out."
