Band: Dogma
From: The Netherlands

Their formation story:
"Our formation story is quite a long story. Dogma started out of a previous band that broke up. Starting out with a guitar player, bass player, and drummer, we found a guitar player and singer through our own network. After having a complete band the drummer left after which we found a new drummer through auditions. That drummer also left and forced us to hold auditions yet again for a new drummer.

"After finally being a whole band for a while and during that time recording the record, one of our guitar players decided to quit. Forcing us yet again to hold auditions, this time for a guitar player. And now we are finally a complete band again and sounding better than ever with a great group dynamic."

Their sound in their own words:
"Our style is hardcore with metal influences. Some would call it metallic hardcore."

Latest release info:
"Our debut record, Face of Violence, expresses itself in sociological and political subjects. The title track, for example, covers the climate crises and how we, mankind, are destroying the earth. Consumerism is the main topic in ‘Feeding the Hand That Bites’. In Borderli(n)es the borders (between nations) of Fort Europe are criticized and in ‘Toxic Apathy’ the patriarchy is challenged.

"The record was recorded by Daan Nieboer at Cornerstone Audio (known for productions of Adversary, Hawser, Serve, and Moments), who also was in charge of the mix and master of all the tracks. The release of Face of Violence, both digitally as physically, will be done completely by ourselves. Including the screen printing of the record sleeves, artwork, all videos and images and promotion (on social media).

"The first single from the record, ‘Smoke and Mirrors,’ was already released on April 12th. This track was paired with a music video. Followed by the second single, ‘Borderli(n)es,’ which was released exactly one month later on the 12th of May. The Dutch online music platform Never Mind the Hype summarized their reaction on these two singles as 'beukwerk met een boodschap” or (quasi) translated to English “brick heavy music with a message.'"

Future plans:
"We are planning to play as many shows as possible in order to showcase Face of Violence. We already have some cool shows lined up. We're trying to play in as many countries inside Europe (and outside If possible). When this ball is rolling ,we will be starting to write new music in the background so we can continue to play shows without having any down time."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Swell, Adversary, Rites, and Man As Plague."
