"And from the dark they came / To find the living undead," are the opening lines of "Midnight Man," a track off Cult Cinema's newly released EP, Cosmic Horror II. It's an ominous vision being laid out by the London-based outfit.
On the musical side of the equation, Cult Cinema back their Fangoria-approved lyrics with a combination of metallic hardcore and atmospheric black metal. "Midnight Man" clocks in under 3 1/2 minutes, but it still manages to ride through a myriad of sonic palletes. It's got layers of emotion driving through its black heart. The screechy vocals also fit the mood, and pull away when the arrangement needs to breathe a bit. Good work, my friends.
Cosmic Horror II is a self-released affair and can be purchased directly from Cult Cinema on their Bandcamp page.
