After quickly establishing themselves with a pair of DIY EPs and their debut full-length, No Rescue, Sharp Tongues are already back with new material—kicking off the next chapter with “Blinding Lights,” the first single from their forthcoming EP, Dead Weight.
But before we get to that, here's some quick background info on the Gothenburg outfit. Formed in late 2021, Sharp Tongues didn’t take long to find their footing, building momentum through constant activity—DIY releases, packed shows, and festival appearances—while leaning on the experience of members who’ve spent time in bands like One Minute Left, Subject to Change, Eyes Shut, and Set My Path.
“Blinding Lights” reinforces what Sharp Tongues do best: melodic hardcore rooted in urgency, with a clear lineage back to the late ’90s. This time out, the melodic side of their approach is leaned into. It’s the kind of track that sits comfortably alongside their earlier material while hinting at something bigger taking shape:
