NOSEBLEEDR: Florida Metalcore Band Laments the Tragedy of Existence on Debut EP

"I don't really know what genre one would use to describe our music, but everything we've created so far has been inspired by anger, sadness, and depression."

As bleak as that sounds, NOSEBLEEDR vocalist Koa Cuyno and his bandmates are channeling the frustration into something positive. "It started with Ben (producer/bassist), Anthony (guitarist), and myself wanting to make something unique and a bit strange," Koa tells No Echo about the Florida band's formation.

"After a few sessions, we decided to release what we had. Although they sound more like glorified demos, we still put them out for fun and didn't think much of it. We initially had no intention of doing anything significant with the project, but following the release of 'You're Not Safe Here,' we realized that we had something special."

Earlier this summer, NOSEBLEEDR released their debut EP, Tragedy of Existence. "Fans of Jesus Piece, Boundaries, Thrown, and Orthodox will have a familiar listening experience," Koa says of the material on the EP:

"Tragedy of Existence isn't a concept record by any means, however, I would say that the project carries an overall theme of pain and negativity," the vocalist tells No Echo. "The intention was not to glorify these topics, but to confront them; to acknowledge and process those feelings. The record, despite all of its brutality and all of its heaviness, is really an attempt to find some peace."

Koa and NOSEBLEEDR are part of a fertile music community in their region of the Sunshine State. "We're based out of South Florida, and there's a very notable scene down here so we're excited to be a part of something that's rapidly growing. We want people to have a good time at our shows and go wild with it when they hear our songs or see us perform.

"Tracheotomy, Existence Has Failed, Fallen God, Peacemaker FL, and Gas FL are all great bands and are a huge part of the Florida music scene."
