Blind may be a relatively new name, but the Stoke-on-Trent band is built on friendships and hardcore roots that stretch back nearly two decades. Formed in late 2024, the group emerged after guitarist Dan, guitarist Jack, and vocalist Reece reunited following years away from active bands. What started as a few riffs and ideas quickly evolved into something more serious once bassist Sam and drummer Sam joined the lineup.
"We were all involved in the local scene as teenagers between 2006 and 2012," Dan explains to No Echo. "After life got in the way for a good few years, we got together to see if we could make something worth pursuing."
After recording their first material, the band settled on the name Blind, reflecting their frustration with the current state of the world and their desire to come out swinging from day one.
Musically, Blind don't follow a strict blueprint. Instead, the band's songs develop naturally, pulling influence from acts such as The Chariot, Dreaming In Oceans, Johnny Truant, and Brutality Will Prevail. "We're just trying to write heavy headbangers and have a good time doing it," Dan says.

The band is gearing up to release their next collection of songs, Crooked Path, which was recorded with Owen Davies at Loud Noises Productions. While retaining the stomping hardcore foundation that defines Blind's sound, the new material leans into darker territory, tackling themes of depression, abuse, and uncertainty about the future. "We've tried to develop and refine the moodier side of the songs while keeping the stomp in there," Dan says. "We still want to drag people by the skin of their teeth through the songs."
Beyond the release, Blind are focused on playing more shows, expanding beyond their local area, and continuing to build momentum. Dan also points to the recent resurgence of the Stoke-on-Trent scene, recommending bands such as Smother, Invasion, Head Dent, and Woodhouse, as well as local friends in Fighting Chance and Depopulation.
For Blind, the mission remains simple: write heavy music, play shows, and see where the songs take them. With Crooked Path on the horizon, the band looks poised to make a bigger mark on the UK hardcore landscape.
