84 Tigers: Small Brown Bike, The Swellers Members Bring Infectious Post-Hardcore on “Great Basin”

The opening chapter of the 84 Tigers story begins in early 2021 when the trio began fleshing out material that guitarist/vocalist Mike Reed had demoed the previous two years. Already veterans of the underground music scene via their work as members of Small Brown Bike and The Swellers, the new band benefits from their experience.

84 Tigers' sound clearly has elements of everything from post-hardcore to '90s alt-rock to modern emo, the tie that brings everything together is the trio's penchant for wide-screened melodic lines.

In October 2021, still unannounced to the world, 84 Tigers recorded with Marc Jacob Hudson (Against Me!, Taking Back Sunday) at Rancho Recordo in Michigan to track their forthcoming debut album, Time in the Lighthouse.

Time in the Lighthouse will be available October 21st on LP/digital via Spartan Records (pre-order).

84 Tigers will appear at The Fest 20 in Gainesville, Florida this October.
