Band: Nylon
From: Sheffield, UK
Their formation story:
(James Bell, vocals): "The condensed version is just that we had all played in bands together of varying genres in Sheffield then some time in 2022 we just all said we wanted to play the type of hardcore we grew up listening to, the early and mid-'00s stuff. We met up and wrote one song, named it 'Nylon,' and that was that."
Their sound in their own words:
"We definitely hold on to that early '00s sound when Bridge 9, Lockin' Out, and Dead and Gone Records were all in such full effect. Bands like Deal With It, The Rival Mob, Dirty Money, and Outbreak are always at the forefront of our minds when we write."
Latest release info:
"We put out a 5-track demo/ EP at the end of 2023 and just self-released some cassette tapes, too. We recorded it at our local DIY space, The Lughole, all in of 3 hours and then it got mastered by Ben Jones from Pest Control. It's raw and very DIY."
Future plans:
"We have some great shows just booked in for the Summer including some cool festivals. We're particularly excited about playing the Bank holiday Bust up at Boom in Leeds and also getting to play with Sick of It all and Violent Way at Phazed Out Festival in Newcastle. Both with our mates in Rough Justice. Also just got added to a show in Nottingham with Spaced which we are stoked about. After that, record more."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Rough Justice, Rat Cage, Chained Up, Mouthparts. All different and all amazing in their own way."
