Purveyors of a harsh yet tight metallic hardcore sound, Pound of Flesh might already be on your radar. The Peterborough, Ontario band formed a couple of years ago and have wasted no time getting down to business.
The group has already released a slew of singles, an EP, and last year saw the release of their debut album, Chapter One. The band’s audio production, led by Shanesaw Productions, captures their intense sound perfectly. Pound of Flesh have also kept a steady live performance schedule going, building a fanbase in their region of Canada.
Upstate Records took notice and welcomed Pound of Flesh into their family. The New York-based hardcore label will be releasing a new EP by the band called Heaven Sent.
In the meantime, the label and Pound of Flesh wanted to give listeners a sneak peek of what lies ahead via "Ego Trip," a new track from their next release:
Pound of Flesh vocalist Shane Morrison sent No Echo these toughts on his lyrics for "Ego Trip":
"The friends I’ve made are permanent on this journey, like family. 'Ego Trip' is a celebration of the relationships and skills I’ve attained along the way and enforces my passion to protect that."
Stay tuned to Pound of Flesh's Instagram page for more info on the Heaven Sent EP release date and live shows.
"Ego Trip" will hit streaming outlets on October 4th via Upstate Records and Blood Blast Distribution (pre-save here).
