First arriving onto the music scene in the '90s via Delaware hardcore outfit Joshua Fit For Battle, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bryan Louie has kept a prolific pace up. His eclectic discography also features his work in such bands as The Twin and Heavy Vessel, exploring a wide breadth of musical styles.
Under the moniker Kai Mark, Louie focuses on the singer-songwriter side of his influences, taking an acoustic route that puts his lyrics and melodies in the spotlight.
Recorded during the winter of late 2019 and early 2020 in his Brooklyn, New York homebase, Doll is a 4-song EP Louie tracked with the help of engineer and musician Jon Tehel (Aircrafting, Gunboat).
The Doll EP will arrive in its full glory later this month, but today we have the music video for one of its tracks, a haunting number entitled "My Sweet Bird":
Bryan shared the following about the clip:
"The 'My Sweet Bird' video was directed by David Norbut with the help of Brad Wallace. Shot in a black and white, this performance video tries to capture the exposed emotion of the confessional and apologetic lyrics. A waltz in timing, the song was born from the guilt over the repeated mistakes that hurt a loved one and the process of asking them to stay once more, while simultaneously warning them to stay away."

Doll will be released February 24th via Mind Over Matter Records (pre-order). This first pressing is limited to only 200 handmade copies.
