Los Angeles band Feed the Beast's origin story can be traced back to the high school where the members met as students. The COVID lockdowns slowed their early writing sesssions but they got to grinding and have kept a steady stream of releases since then.

A couple of singles led to Feed the Beast's 2022 debut album, Vengeance, and the following year's Silhouettes EP. The lineup of James Hutchinson (vocals),. Nicholas Garcia (guitar), Tye Trujillo (bass), and Patrick Chavez (drums) also played live shows throughout the City of Angeles as they developed their crossover metal and hardcore approach.

The next chapter in Feed the Beast story is about to begin via Mercy, the group's forthcoming sophomore LP. The material was written by original members but a lineup shift has gone done since those sessions as Tye left to focus on his bass duties in Suicidal Tendencies (his father, Robert, famously had the same role in the '90s before joining Metallica), and drummer Patrick is playing with OTTTO.

For the Mercy recording sessions, Feed the Beast connected with Terror drummer Nick Jett who recorded, mixed, and mastered the LP.

The first taste of the forthcoming album has been unleashed today in the form of "Tombs Underneath the Tombs," a punishing track from Mercy:

Feed the Beast vocalist James Hutchinson shared the following with No Echo about the song:

"'Tombs Underneath the Tombs' is about being content with and even embracing hell, which is a fate worse than hell itself. It takes on the perspective of an incredibly narcissistic individual who believes they are smarter and stronger than everyone, including creation itself.”

Mercy will be out on May 23rd via Futureless Records (pre-save link).
