Band: Wasted Life
From: Florida
Their formation story:
(John, guitar): "I’d been thinking about doing a straight-forward band with Helena singing for a minute. Then one day at work I was listening to Judge and sent her a text asking if she wanted to sing in a band like that. Afterwards, she said she was down I wrote the demo over the course of a month.
"I then assembled the rest of the band which is 2 of the guys that are in Keep Reaching with us and our friend Alana."
Their sound in their own words:
"We’re named after a Confront song so there’s obviously a lot of Clevo influence (specifically one band I won’t name). But we generally pull from a bunch of '90s straight edge stuff. We all love Judge, Strife, and Floorpunch.
"I would describe our music as '90s-influenced straight edge hardcore."
Latest release info:
"We recorded it with Ethan Murphy at Back Forty. Josh from Armageddon Records ended up doing the art. I’m really happy with how it turned out and how it sounds. Working with Armageddon Records is always awesome and he makes it very fun.
"I definitely feel there’s room to level up with the next release but I think you should always think that."
Future plans:
"I’m currently writing our EP that I hope to have out by March. We also have a Northeast run with Lose Sight in early January, and also have some other runs in the works for next year."
What other bands from their region should people check out?
"Stedfast, Obscured, Watts, No Truth, Miracle, StreetSweeper, Contention, and Collateral."
Demo 24 is available on cassette via Armageddon Records.
