New HC Bands

New Hardcore Band Spotlight: Vigilante

Band: Vigilante
From: Detroit, Michigan

Their formation story:
(John, guitar): "Hunter's band, Love Is Red, and mine, xTyrantx, had played several shows together in the past so we knew each but it wasn't until Hunter moved to Michigan and meeting up for food with a mutual friend that we became friends and talked about starting a band.

"We worked on lining up some people to play and landed with Joe on second guitar (Big Deal, xEnemyOfGodx), Andrew on bass (Wreckless, Down N' Out) and Joe on drums (xTyrantx) to complete the current lineup."

Their sound in their own words:
"I think we have a solid mid-'00s metallic hardcore sound. Influences include Biohazard, Buried Alive, Hatebreed, Madball, and Crowbar."

Latest release info:
"We recorded the False Gods of War EP music with Alex Larson at Bright Black Earth Studio, and the vocals with Tony Rizzo at Soundsmith studio. We had a great experience and plan to return in March for this new EP.

"The writing process took some time to come together due to life schedules and a few members change ups initially but we were happy with the direction and style the songs developed into, everyone put a piece of their own flavor in writing."

Future plans:
"We have a show lined up in Februaury with D-Bloc and one in March with Domain. We also have plans to record a new EP in March and look to get it released on vinyl. We would like to branch out a bit out of state and continue to play more shows and write more music."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Detroit is popping off right now. There are so many bands coming out but a few to look out for and support Never Ending Game, D-Bloc, Big Deal, xEnemy of Godx, Bitter Truth, Doubt It, Poison Tongues, xPersistx, Moral Pollution, Die Hard, Hard Count, Dead Hang, and Ante Up. Sorry if I missed any homies."
