Band: Honey
From: Kansas City, Missouri
Their formation story:
(Jordan Kane, vocals): "So Dodi (guitar and I had been playing in more of a thrash punk band around town for a couple of years and wanted to form something a little heavier. Drew (drums) wasn't currently playing in a band but had been a part of some really good metal bands and we knew he was a ripper.
"Jamie (bass) was on a little bit of a hiatus from his band Perfume USA, and Miguel is still currently a member of another band called Limb Dealer but we saw him play and had to snag him for this project, and it all fell into place from there."
Their sound in their own words:
"I would say a lot of our influences come from '90's/'00s New York/East Coast hardcore. Dodi brings the riffs and we all just add our own style and flavor to the mix,
We just want to play something that we would want to listen to and whatever seems fun."
Latest release info:
"The Two Blocks Up demo is two of our favorite tracks out of the current set list that we wanted to get out there. It's just catchy, heavy shit."
Future plans:
"We plan to focus a lot on writing as much as possible, Playing as many local shows as we can then eventually hitting the road around the Midwest to start."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"SPINE are the hometown heroes for sure but KC has been popping off with so many good bands.
"I would suggest checking out the homies Pact of Violence (POV), Yeah Right!, Burning Bush, Siilk, Ten Times Fast, Failure Drill, FOIL, Total Sham, Still Ill, Missouri Executive Order 44, Final Atomic Battle, Hooded Grave, Billy, and Gods Computer."
