Band: Divine Injustice
From: Monterrey, Mexico
Their formation story:
(Mario Guillen, guitar): "Divine Injustice is the result of many riffs recorded on my phone from previous years, 3 songs from the EP were recorded already for another project that I fully recorded by myself titled 'LOW ENVY,' and it was just music and no vocals.
"One day asking for favors, I contacted Guillermo — he's the current drummer— and after a couple weeks of practice and making new music he came up with the name Divine Injustice."
Their sound in their own words:
"Our style I'll consider it very fluent it's just not one thing we move around to whatever we considered sounds good to us. When people ask me what the band sound like it's hard to explain I always make the joke that it's my 'Tumblr feed soundtrack.' But our main influences are Mizery, Power Trip, and Cruel Hand."
Latest release info:
"Our first release, Progress Through Suffering, was recorded in Nodriza studio and produced by Cesar Melendez. He's a top producer for indie music in Monterrey, Mexico but I wanted to record DI's first studio EP with a real profesional producer and we end up really happy with the product."
Future plans:
"What's next on DI's upcoming months will include dropping the EP but there's a couple of tracks on the table ready for a future release. We might not be very active as a band playing shows or touring around but definitely y'all be hearing about us."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Here's a couple bands that definitely should be in your Spotify: Dan Taylor from Monterrey, Mexico with their album IV. Uno a uno from Mexico City is the most active and realest hardcore band in the whole country. Omega is a great band from Guadalajara that are friends of ours.
"And last but not least, one of my favorites, and I'll consider them the hardest mf's that with a sound that always goes hard: Rejacero from Tijuana with their latest release, En el mapa. Chef's kiss."
