Veins of Black is a band from San Fernando, California with a sound that leans heavy into death metal with elements of metallic hardcore sprinkled throughout it. "We formed in the beginning of 2023 after some mutual friends that had been in different projects together decided to reconnect and create something different than what we had done in the past," the band wrote No Echo about their start together.
When asked about their writing style, it looks No Echo's earlier description is one the Veins of Black guys can get behind. "Our sound is an aggressive blend of death metal and hardcore. Between the four of us, there are a ton of bands that influenced our sound, but some of the most important ones are Xibalba, Lamb of God, Crowbar, Dying Fetus, Gods Hate, Eyehategod, and Terror."
Veins of Black are gearing up for the release of a new EP entitled Seeking Help For Visions Unknown, and they've just dropped a music video for single from it called "Glass Throne":
"It’s a loose concept record that tells a story from the perspective of God, in which he becomes disgusted with the human race and decides to destroy the Earth over the course of 4 days," said Veins of Black of the new EP. "We drew a lot more influence from our metal roots with this release than our previous demo and singles, but there is still a strong hardcore foundation that we’ll always maintain."
As mentioned in the intro, Veins of Black hail from San Fernando, California, which is a city within the larger San Fernando Valley, recently best known in the heavy music scene for producing bands like God's Hate and Human Garbage.
"The Los Angeles hardcore scene (and the San Fernando Valley scene in particular) is absolutely thriving right now," the Visions of Black guys wrote No Echo. "There’s never a lack of good shows and there are a ton of amazing acts coming out of this area such as Greenwitch, Mal Form, Shape, Himura, Most Wanted, No False Moves, and Funeral Massacre."
