Once again, the Latin American hardcore community keeps on giving—this time in the form of a killer new music video. Mexico’s Omega have just released a new clip for their single “El Enemigo Soy Yo Mismo,” taken from their 2025 album, Ausente. The record is a powerful release featuring guest appearances from Mexico City’s Uno a Uno and Seattle’s Odd Man Out.
The Guadalajara outfit has become one of the most prominent bands in the current Mexican scene, playing a slew of cities across the country over the past few years and even performing at festivals abroad in Brazil alongside fellow rockers, Joker.
Luckily for the Tapatíos, drummer Alejandro Galván also works in video production as a filmmaker and pitched the concept for the new clip: something simple that could still capture the band’s high energy:
When asked about the album, guitarist Ivan Flores explained that it “focuses on loss and how to deal with it. ‘El Enemigo Soy Yo Mismo’ specifically addresses the stage of acceptance, where you don’t forget your loss but come to terms with the fact that there’s no turning back. You’re integrating that loss into your reality, even though you’re not on board with the idea—but you start to live in the present.”
In the near future, Flores says the band will play shows across Mexico for the remainder of the year while continuing to pursue opportunities abroad.
Up next, they’re set to open for Fiddlehead in Mexico City this coming Valentine’s Day, along with appearances at local festivals in Hermosillo and Mexicali.
