Based out of the fertile hardcore stomping ground of Troy, New York (Stigmata, Cranial Abuse, Dying Breed), Brick By Brick formed back in 2004, but really got cooking around 2015.
Comprised of guitarist Mike Valente, bassist Andy Parsons, drummer James Muller, and new vocalist Ray Mazzola (also of Full Blown Chaos), the group melds the groove of brutal hardcore with the bite of thrash and death metal.
Not only has Brick By Brick toured around with such groups as Madball and Iron Reagan, they've also played Black N Blue Bowl and Tsunami Fest, and even had their own Jack Daniels single barrel select bottle and a regional meadery create a mead for the band.
With a new year dawning, Brick By Brick is keeping the momentum up via a violent assault of metallic hardcore entitled Dismal Existence. The new album features an especially potent dose of said brutality in the form of "Evil Remains," a collaboration that finds Mazzola trading vocal lines with none other than Testament vocalist Chuck Billy.
This is the hard stuff:
"Dismal Existence was the title chosen because it seems that everything gets worse as we get older," says Valente about the forthcoming record.
"Politics, social media, and all other propaganda are consuming the sheep of this world and they are taking things literally and leading this world to its fate."
Dismal Existence will be out on February 18th, 2022 via Upstate Records.
