Band: Penalty

Their formation story:
(Aidan, vocals): "The earliest incarnation of this band was formed sometime around August last year, but the band truly came into existence in about January of this year. I was just trying to get some friends together to play some songs that I had ideas and demos of. Eventually, the current lineup fell into place pretty naturally."
Their sound in their own words:
"I would describe our sound as negative hardcore. We're influenced by bands like Kickback, Left for Dead, Straight Savage Style, Gehenna, (early) Integrity, Deformity, Dyingrace, and some modern bands like Mourning, Division of Mind, and Demonstration of Power.
"We really just want to play music that sounds like it was written by asylum patients for people to hurt each other to. Straight up evil negative dance floor karate style shit. Only for the stylish."
Latest release info:
"Northeast Negativity was the culmination of us spending a solid few months writing and figuring out how we wanted to sound. We recorded with my friend Ian, who was able to get access to Landmine Studios to record us. We put it out on our own in late August."
Future plans:
"The future plans we have at the moment are to hopefully play some more shows in the northeast. I'm also working on writing a new EP for us, so hopefully we can get to working on fleshing those songs out soon."

"Some other bands to shout out off the top of my head (some aren't exactly from New Jersey or Pennsylvania but they're dope so IDAF): Verses of the Bleeding, Tarnished, Negative Force, Eyes of Fear, My Chemical Romance, Fools Game (never forgetting the drummer beer waterboarding incident), Last Man Out, Opposition, Wounded, and Not One Truth.
