Band: Indication
From: Tokyo, Japan

Their formation story:
(Veron, vocals): "I used to be the vocalist in a band called Crystal Lake, but I quit in 2011, and hadn't been in a band since. I've occasionally done featured guest vocals in friend's bands, but I had no desire to start my own band. I thought I was done.

"Around the spring of 2022, when I was talking in the car with Koba (Loyal to the Grave, Birthplace, Bloodaxe Festival), who graduated from the same university as I did, I suddenly realized that I wanted to form a band. I asked him if he wanted to do it with me, and he said, 'let's do it!'

"At first, I didn't even think about releasing an album because it wasn't too serious. From there, Takayanagi (Birthplace) and Keita (Sable Hills) and things became what they are now. It maybe an old-fashioned way of doing things, but we jammed and created songs from scratch. We had one song ready, so we recorded it, and it turned out better than I expected. So we pressed and released it as a demo in 2023. I was honestly happy that reaction was better than I had expected."

Their sound in their own words:
"Of course, the basic foundation of our music is the metallic, mid-tempo hardcore of the '90s, but young people are bringing that kind of sound back. I guess we were aiming for reconstructed sound while still basing it on that. I think you can see different sides of it depending on the song.

"After all, everyone loves State Craft, and it has an influence on young people who have never seen it. Personally, I like the H8000 bands, as well as bands from Syracuse and Florida. As a band, the common link is State Craft, after all [laughs]."

Latest release info:
"I suffered a severe fracture and couldn't perform live. I managaed to get through the recording, though. Heaven Shall Burn and Mindforce were handled by Koba, and Japanese artists such as GOD168 (State Craft, Nerds Records), Tome168 (Birthplace) and Ryuji (Gates Of Hopeless) all did the features on the record. It made the work even more appealing."

Future plans:
"As I said earlier, everyone has other bands, but we need to perform live and get Indication out there. We wanna play in the States, Europe, south east Asia, and all over the world someday soon. Personally, I still feel a bit rusty,so there is still a long way to go, but l am enjoying myself and getting where I want to be."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Japan is a small country, but as any band that toured Japan will know, there are a lot of cool bands here. I don't think I can list them all, but I would recommend the @ikthn channel on YouTube.

"Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us, watched our live show, and hooked up with DAZE. Thanks to No Echo!"
