With the end of 2024 bringing up a bunch of new bands like Can’t Lose, About Face, The Next Level, Just Us, etc. all I can come to think is “do we really need another kick-ass straight edge band?”
Well... we do.
Per usual, Oxnard Hardcore has got it. Newly formed Said and Done brings us their first recording titled Demo 2025 with a set of 5 fast songs clocking in at less than 7 minutes and killer cover art by Andreas (Possessed Fanzine). Talk about short and sweet!
Featuring members from other 805 outfits such as Bare Minimum, Disillusion, Ceramik, and In Time, Said and Done recorded at Room Eleven in Oxnard with Vincent Amador (Dead Heat, Cosmic Joke).
While talking with drummer/vocalist Mark via email about why the band came together, he claims: “This project is about playing a style of music we love and for a reason that means so much to us. All three of us have been straight edge our whole lives and for better or worse it’s a huge part of who we are. I have a lot to say about things I don’t like and breaking edge following trends being someone you are not something that is common in hardcore and needs to be called out.
“There’s a lot of shit in the world of hardcore right now. A lot of people doing things for the wrong reasons a lot of copy and paste bands and a lot of egos. I want nothing to do with that. I love hardcore and am involved in hardcore simply for the love and the fun. That’s what Said and Done is, guys who love hardcore love being straight edge and have the need to call out the bullshit. It’s for us for our friends for Ventura County hardcore and for the straight edge,” Mark added.
The Youth Crew revival is on its way!
