Band: Frayed Ends BC
From: Belfast, UK
Their formation story:
(Steve Martin, guitars): "Frayed Ends came together initially during the pandemic lockdown as a project to just write and record some old school hardcore tunes and talk about ADHD and mental health. It was initially just Eddie (vocals), Robbie (guitar) and a bunch of friends helping out which led to the Belfast Hardcore EP.
"Fast forward to late 2022 and the lineup was filled out as it is now with and we set out to write what became the Strive EP, adding Deane on drums, Zac and bass and myself adding second guitar and backing vocals."
Their sound in their own words:
"We have a lot of different influences and each of us bring something a bit different to the table. We all share a love of hardcore but there are a lot of thrash elements in there too. There's a bit of Madball, Ironed Out, Knuckledust, Hollow Truth, Malevolence, and even some crust like Tragedy throughout this EP."
Latest release info:
"Our newest release has seen us take a different direction from our debut for sure. Only two of us were in the band when the debut was written so Strive is certainly a more collaborative effort. The lyrical themes deal with mental health, social injustices and trying to stand up for yourself in difficult times."
Future plans:
"Our immediate plans are to try and get over to the mainland UK this Summer / Autumn to tour. We'd really like to get on a festival or two and we're currently trying to find a label / distro to help get us out there."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"There are so many Irish bands worth mentioning! Lost to Life, Embrace Execution, Bitter Pill, Worn Out, Porphyria, Riled Up, Goon, The Guilt, Warcorpse, Scundered, RPC and about 50 others. We've a brilliant punk, hardcore and crust scene in Ireland at the minute and it's only going to get better."
