Hailing from Schweinfurt, Germany, Thin Ice has been dialing in a no-frills, hard-hitting approach to hardcore since forming in 2019. After introducing themselves with 2021’s Keep It Alive EP and leveling up with 2024’s A Matter of Time LP, the quintet have kept things moving—taking their sound across Europe and even into Indonesia along the way.
Naming such bands as Terror, Madball, and Incendiary as prime influences, Thin Ice will return to record store shelves next month via Happiness Ain’t Meant For All, a five-track EP.

Today, No Echo is premiering the EP’s title track, “Happiness Ain’t Meant For All":
“‘Happiness Ain’t Meant For All’ is about hoping for something and the pain when it doesn’t work out,” vocalist Simon Hereth tells No Echo. “It’s about reaching for love, joy, or fulfillment and feeling the disappointment when it slips away — I think a feeling anyone can relate to.”
The EP was recorded and produced by Jason Rowe, with mixing and mastering handled by Justin Felder, Bastian Kühn, and David Deutsch at 1408 Productions.
