Citing such influences as Buried Inside and Cursed, I'd like to welcome Québec City-based band Scare to No Echo.

The quartet's sludge-tastic metallic hardcore assault first emerged on their 2015 demo. Sine then, Scare have released an EP in 2016 (Fleshed Out), a full-length LP in 2019 (Not Dead Yet, Probably...), and another EP a couple of years later via Congratulations On Your Death.

Kicking off 2025 in style, Scare are gearing up for the release of their second album, In the End, Was It Worth It?, which finds the Canadian outfit delivering 13 tracks "surging with the morose reality of modern life, and hopeful optimism for a better outcome."

Take a listen to the first taste of the new album via a lyric video for "Thrash Melrose":

Scare sent No Echo the following thoughts on the song:

“‘Thrash Melrose’ is a reflection on Green Anarchism and a lament for the state of our planet. It speaks to the harsh reality that humanity has crossed a threshold, endangering the home that nurtures us. The song calls for a return to simplicity, to lives rooted in harmony with nature rather than domination over it. For even if we falter, nature will endure and thrive, a testament to its resilience and the balance we’ve strayed so far from.”

In the End, Was It Worth It? will be self-released through all digital services and on vinyl on February 21st (pre-order and digital pre-save).
