Leeway: NYHC Icons Drop Music Video for "10 Years" from Adult Crash Remix

"We tried hard on 'Adult Crash,' but we didn't get it 100% like we did on 'Open Mouth Kiss.'"

That's what late Leeway vocalist Eddie Sutton told me in a 2018 No Echo interview. Released in 1994, Adult Crash was chronologically the third of the NYHC icons' four studio albums and found the band stretching their stylistic direction into new territories.

The groove was still there. The grit certainly didn't go away. But melodic side of Leeway's approach was more of an emphasis on songs like "Three Wishes" and "You," something Sutton's acrobatic vocals could afford.

Were there mosh-crazed riff fests like Born to Expire's "Enforcer" or "Who's to Blame" from Desperate Measures? Nah, but repeated listens to Adult Crash revealed a wonderful album filled with many of the sonic tenants that made Leeway one of the best groups to come out of the hardcore community, especially in the hooks and dynamics departments.

Reality Records is (finally) releasing a remixed version of Adult Crash and Leeway guitarist A.J. Novello brought in director Will Fredette to helm a music video for the track "10 Years" from the reissue to offer a taste of Chris Collier's (Korn, Queensryche) tasty remix.

Before I forget, I wrote extensive liner notes for the Adult Crash reissue, and as the resident Leeway biographer, you know I put a ton of love into it. Anyway, dig in:

The Adult Crash remixed reissue is available via Reality Records on vinyl and CD (pre-order)
