Into Nothing: Los Angeles Metal Band Offers Taste of Flesh via New Release

Into Nothing is a new band, but their roots in the Los Angeles undergound music scene runs deeper. "We’ve all known each other for about 10 years now. Cristobal, Seth and I used to be in a band called Carried Weight," guitarist/vocalist Kevin Arrieta tells No Echo.

"After a few years, Cristobal and Seth parted ways and started a new project called In Spite, I continued Carried Weight and eventually found Diego. Into Nothing originally started as a side thing for me, but turned into a fun idea to bring the group back together in a fresh new way none of the previous bands brought."

In terms of Into Nothing's sound, Kevin lays out some of their influences:

"There’s definitely a broad list, but some bands that heavily influence us are Pantera, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, and Metallica. As for describing our sound, we tend to gravitate towards faster, more aggressive music so it’s easy to call us hardcore but we really want to show our roots in older metal as well."

Into Nothing's latest release is a two-tracker called Taste of Flesh:

Taste of Flesh is a follow-up release to our self-titled demo that we released last year. I wrote the demo years ago before any of the other guys joined, so this time around, we were all able to bring something to the table. This is just a taste of what’s to come."

Into Nothing is just getting stared. "Right now, we’re just focusing on our next release and hoping to have it ready for the next year. Besides that, just having fun playing shows and getting our name familiarized in the scene."
