Proudly representing the Arizona hardcore scene, meet Beyond All Doubt. The quintet was formed in 2022 by musicians who have also played in such bands as Low Roads, Slow Descent, One Life Taken, and Mugshot.
"We do a pretty good job of blending ’90s metallic hardcore with a modern twist," vocalist James tells me about Beyond All Doubt's stylistic approach. "All of us are huge fans of bands like Merauder, All Out War, Kickback, and Day of Mourning, just to name a few."
2023 saw the group drop their B.A.D. Demonstration demo, and since then have kept a steady live schedule up. Beyond All Doubt have also caught the attention of Life and Death Brigade Records and Rest Assured Records, who are teaming up to release the band's forthcoming EP, Life's Ladder.
"The themes on the record are deeply rooted in personal struggle, self-doubt, and emotional turmoil," James reveals. "Each song carries heavy emotional weight—whether it’s the crushing pressure of life’s struggles, the all-consuming nature of mental health battles, or the anger and pain of betrayal. The overarching theme is one of resistance and confronting personal darkness, whether by rejecting it or navigating through it."
Beyond All Doubt recently released a crushing track from Life's Ladder called "Ten Times Worse" to give listeners a taste of what awaits them:
James explains how Beyond All Doubt and their record labels connected: "In 2022, my previous band played a show with [Life and Death Brigade Records co-founder] Tyler’s band, Constraint. After the gig, we grabbed In-N-Out, and Tyler mentioned he’d love to put something out for us when the time was right.
"Fast forward to 2024—my old band had gone on indefinite hiatus, but Beyond All Doubt was active. Tyler reached out to Alex from my old band about potentially doing a release through LDB. Alex let him know about our hiatus but suggested he check out my new band. Tyler reached out to me, and from there, everything just clicked.
"A few months ago, Brad from Rest Assured hit us up on Instagram, showing interest in putting out a future release. We let him know about our upcoming 7” through LDB and mentioned we’d love to put out CDs and cassettes as well. We’re so grateful to both Tyler and Brad for believing in us, and we’re really excited about what’s to come with them in the future."

Beyond All Doubt are staying busy on the live front as well. "We’re playing Just Another Gig Vol. 6 in Tacoma, Washington, at the end of February, and we’ve got a couple more festival and show announcements coming later this year. We may even have something special planned for JAG."

What would a No Echo interview be without a quickie local scene report? "Arizona hardcore has a very strong scene, with dedicated people making things happen in Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tucson, and Yuma. There are too many great bands to list in one sitting, but some of our favorites include Dying Earth, No Choice, Skin Ticket, Hard Luck, Two Guns, Get A Grip, War Prison, Maldita Gente, Final Stance, Fortuna Malvada, and Beg For Life."
