Aeges: Los Angeles Post-Hardcore Outfit Returns With “Who Are You” (PREMIERE)

Aeges have been bringing stadium-sized post-hardcore since forming back in 2011. The Los Angeles-based quartet have shared stages with the likes of Thrice, Coheed and Cambria, and Tool, which speaks to their diverse sonic approach.

Over the course of their time together, Aeges have released four studio albums, with their most recent, DrØmmen, arriving right before the pandemic took its grip on the world in early 2020. While their touring plans obviously had to be cancelled, the band pressed on, releasing a single called "Colors" in April of last year.

Aeges has been working on a new record for 2022 and the first track from the sessions, "Who Are You," appears today in this No Echo exclusive stream.

"This song is more ‘stripped down aggression’ than our usual output—both musically and lyrically," bassist Tony Baymeister tells No Echo. "It’s also the first recording to feature Trevor Howard on second guitar, and we’re stoked on how it turned out!”

Guitarist/vocalist Kemble Walters adds: “We tracked this on a day off in Sacramento at our buddy Lance Jackman’s studio (the Dock).

"We pride ourselves on self producing and engineering our own tunes (as much as possible) so this was a blast and a nice change of pace from our normal studio setting and the tour grind. No artist ever wants a 'real' day off anyway right?”
