Their formation story:
(Pam, vocals): "Bom (drums) and Nampan (guitar/bass) started the band at the end of 2021, and then I joined the band as lead singer because I wanted to criticize the corrupt government system in Thailand.
"We released our demo in 2022 and started making the Odd World EP last year and finished it this year. We are glad to be welcomed in the local hardcore, punk, and metal scene in Thailand. The best thing for me is to communicate the evil of the government through these songs."
Their sound in their own words:
"We intended on playing a power violence style and our mix of influences include Punch (our guitarist) and and our drummer is heavily inspired by Charles Bronson. The Speech Odd sound features long blast beats alternating with hardcore punk grooves that you can hear on Odd World."
Latest release info:
"The Odd World EP came out in March. It features 11 tracks with 5 older ones that had already been released on our demo. We re-recorded those with a new sound. I think this EP is truly the official launch of Speech Odd [laughs].
"We got our friend @Saly.s.f to design the cover of the EP with colored pencils with interpretations of the songs on the record. As for the content of the songs,
we talk about various evils in the Thai country government system. that has been frozen for a long time now.
"We'll have a few physical copies of the Odd World EP on vinyl from Coxinha Records (Europe), Mangoe Records (US), Shitresist Recs (Asia). All vinyl will be available for pre-order soon.
Future plans:
"Our next plan is to release two splits later this year, and we would love to perform in other scenes outside of Bangkok!"
