Band: Hand of Chain

Their formation story:
(Akram, guitar): "The band started a few months ago. We were all in the same city and were in different bands before. Hand of Chain is Alvin (vocals), Wisnu (drums), Wawan (bass), Erlangga (guitar), and myself We came together from the volcanic ash of bands in Cirebon, we call it 'Northside Hardcore' because our city is on the north side and adjacent to the north coastal line.
"Wisnu has a band (LOA, Distgard, Thunderstruck, Blonde), Erlangga (LOA), Wawan (Distgard, LOA), Alvin and myself (Ancy). I contacted them one by one to make a new project with a heavier, more metallic, double pedal sound, and yes, we have the same reference in liking heavy hardcore.
"We made a 2-track demo and sent it to Edd from Set the Fire Records and they agreed to release a maxi-single of this demo and the upcoming EP. We are very excited for the EP and tour!"
Their sound in their own words:
"Double pedal drums, a little metallic touch, riffs that roll like waves, and screaming vocals with lyrics that can still be heard. We have a lot of references, but the closest ones are probably early Final Attack, Seed of Pain, Point of Contact, and older ones like Terror.
"We're not a straight edge band but we like a lot of straight edge bands like Statement of Pride, Magnitude, and Rain of Salvation."
Latest release info:
"Self Devastation ties in with the daily life of our city's scene, Alvin and I wrote about the unrest experienced in our city's hardcore scene, you know, annoying parents who still bother us and we don't care, or we're too lazy to put it on social media. Writing lyrics and making songs is better than writing bad opinions on social media. Just trying to be more productive."
Future plans:
"We'd love to tour and release an EP. We already have 2 new songs for the EP and the work is still ongoing, maybe by the end of the year we'll go into the studio."
What other bands from the region should we check out?
"Distgard is really sick, they are very fast and hard, spicy riffing, the vocal character is similar to Hatebreed. Then LOA, they already have a sick full album, if you like old school hardcore you'll love it. Jagernaut is a grindcore unit that just released an EP."
