Their formation story:
(Emil Hynynen, vocals): "Dirty Work was formed in winter of 2023 by me and our bassist, Toivo. The first thought was to create some kind of mix between crossover and hardcore. We love '80s thrash metal, punk and hardcore so the choice was obvious.
"We tried playing with different people but lineup was finalized in summer, when Anssi (guitar) and Arttu (drums) joined in. Arttu was still doing his mandatory military service, so making and playing songs was slow at first, but we played at every chance we got while he was on vacations and our vision for the band started to be clearer."
Their sound in their own words:
"Our sound is a mix of hardcore, punk and there are also definitely influences from old-school thrash and old-school death metal."
Latest release info:
"We recorded our demo in three days in summer of 2024 at Stonehill Studios, in Summa. The guitar sound is definitely inspired by old Swedish Göteborg death metal bands, so definitely and the outcome was 4 violent and aggressive songs about serial killers, deep traumas and just pure hate of everything by guys in their 20s.
"Also, Monomatic Records were kind enough to release the demo as tape so be on lookout for those in a month or so!"
Future plans:
"Our future plans include playing lots of shows in Finland and going to studio to record an EP, so in all and all its gonna be a busy year!"
