Band: Bog Down

Their formation story:
(Mack, vocals): "After being in everyone else’s bands for a decade, I decided to start my own project outside my comfort zone of playing drums. I wrote 2 songs, 'Transposer' and 'Jeffery Ina Garten,' and started seeking out members.
"When I saw Scooter playing like a maniac in their band, Fast & Backwards, I became excited that they agreed to join. Evan is a great writer/guitar player so I knew I wanted them to play guitar from the start. Marshall came into the picture after a post on Facebook that we needed a bass player; he drives 1.5 hours for practice and shows which is just impressive.
"I came up with the band name during COVID and kept it for myself knowing I’d start my own project. The swamp theme came later."
Their sound in their own words:
"I have shamelessly ripped my vocal style from both Bryan Garris of Knocked Loose and Seth Green screams in Robot Chicken. For fans of Tony Hawk Pro Skater soundtracks, diss tracks, and the King of the Hill theme song. We all like fast punk and breakdowns so we do a lot of those."
Latest release info:
"We’re releasing a demo of the first 2 songs I wrote for the band. It was recorded in Evan’s basement in July 2024, before we even played our first show. Tony Scarpitti mixed 'Jeffrey Ina Garten' and Zack Casey mastered both songs and mixed 'Transposer.' I sought out artwork from Cerberus Bailey, a friend of mine."
Future plans:
"We plan on releasing an EP in early 2025. We will play shows as often as possible to get the word out and we have hopes of doing splits with some other DIY hardcore bands. Being a new band is a struggle but we’ve been super thankful for the people who have given us a chance, so far."
