Trapped Under Ice closed out 2024 in style. The influential hardcore band played on a stacked bill hometown show in Baltimore alongside Gridiron, Firewalker, and Polar View at Ottobar, a legendary music venue in its own right.
The show went down on December 28th and found Trapped Under Ice playing their entire 2007 demo from start to finish, and then assorted heaters from their discography. And in an ultimate Charm City cosign, director John Waters (Cry-Baby, Pink Flamingos) was in attendance.
Check out a video of the entire TUI performance that was shot and edited by Tracy Conway, with audio mixed and mastered by Jeremy Hayes. The live sound was handled by front of house engineer Tristan Heelys:
Here's what Ottobar owner Tecla Tesnau told No Echo about the Trapped Under Ice homecoming performance:
"What an incredible show! Baltimore, home of the Filthiest People Alive — moshing while our beloved Baltimore Caligula John Waters himself sits in a balcony watching with approval — we know how to fucking party!
"TUI was legendary and made that stage submit to their power! It is going to be one of those shows that people talk about 20 years later. Not only did TUI put on a killer show, the energy of the crowd was unmatched. I've never seen an audience so jizzed up to be there, you can practically smell the excitement in the video!"
