New Jersey hardcore outfit Silence Equals Death are gearing up for the release of From the Ashes, their latest EP. The record was co-produced by Biohazard drummer Danny Schuler and Silence Equals Death vocalist Scott Earth.
To whet your appetite, the quintet has just sent No Echo the music video for "Tortured Souls," one of the 5 tracks from the forthcoming collection.
“‘Tortured Souls’ is about the weight people carry that no one else sees,” Silence Equals Death told No Echo via email. “With so much craziness and uncertainty in the world, many of us feel hopeless. This song is meant to be a unifying rally cry about shared feelings, encouraging us to collectively support each other and persevere together.”
Silence Equals Death have spent over a decade carving out their place in the Northeastern hardcore scene, and From the Ashes finds them leaning into their strengths while tightening everything up, with a more metallic edge and a deeper emotional weight.
