Porcupine: Chicago Hardcore Punk Unit Releases Cinematic Video for “Kingdom of Heaven”

Porcupine’s The Sybil has yet to leave its slot of near constant rotation since dropping in February via New Morality Zine.

As if the nightmarish musical vision of one of Chicago’s finest couldn’t be more bleak, album track "Kingdom of Heaven" has been given the video treatment by director Brandon Gregoire and editor Joey Hernandez (he also plays guitar in Porcupine), and couldn’t be more stoked to premiere it. Expectedly, the band’s ever-challenging intentions flourish in the format:

Artfully rendered and unsettlingly serene, the nearly 6-minute accompaniment to an already evocative song pushes things ever further into their own unique rabbit hole.

Juxtaposing the natural world with something far more personal, it captures well the duality of a band bent on fusing the human with something altogether more feral.

The Sibyl is out now via New Morality Zine.
