Doubtfire: Richmond Trio Offers Dizzying Epic Grind on “Debt” (PREMIERE)

It seems like every other week, No Echo is covering a band from the Richmond punk scene. This time out, the Virginia city is bringing us Doubtfire, a band that formed in the River City back in 2014.

Citing such influences as Daughters, Gorguts, and Krallice, the power trio's sound perfectly captures that wild spirit, bringing forth an aural storm that incorporates elements like hardcore, black metal, and thrash within the arrangements.

Next month, Doubtfire will be releasing Spewtrid, a 4-track EP of dizzying mayhem that is represented on the site today via "Debt," a perfect representation of what awaits you when you dig into the rest of the record:

Spewtrid was recorded by Dave Watkins (Dumb Waiter, School Dance) in Richmond. The mastering was handled by Colin Marston (Atheist, Behold the Arctopus, Gorguts), the ideal man for this kind of mindfuck of a record. The EP will be available digitally and on cassette August 1st, and can be pre-ordered here.
