Massachusetts band Abduct.exe didn’t come together to play it safe. Formed in December 2022, the group traces its roots back to earlier projects, with me and Holland King reconnecting with Joe Krewko (As the Sun Sets)," guitarist Joe Gallagher tells No Echo. After bringing in Dan (Edict) on drums and later adding Jae, the band quickly found a shared direction. Even after Krewko stepped away, the lineup pushed forward, letting the sound evolve into something more aggressive and defined.
"We would say fast and obnoxious power violence with heavy slams,” Joe explains, citing influences as wide-ranging as Slayer, Björk, and Cursed. That intensity is captured on their recently released 3-song demo, recorded live in December 2025 with Jared M at Distorted Forest in Rhode Island. To my ears, I hear a lot of Discordance Axis-like weirdo stuff going on in the guitar work. I love that.
“We recorded the whole thing live. We wanted the rawness to convey into the final product,” Joe says. The demo was later mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios, preserving that unfiltered energy.
Lyrically, Abduct.exe channels frustration over real-world issues such as civil unrest and wealth disparity. On “Abscess,” the band leans into that desperation head-on. “It’s about robbing a bank to pay for the dentist, because it’s unaffordable,” Joe explains. “A horrible way of thinking when I needed $3000 to pay for a toothache.”
