Their formation story:
(Ian, guitar): "We met each other through the Ontario-wide scene. Toronto, Hamilton, Mississauga, Cobourg – we all live in different cities but we’d make the trip and catch up at shows.
"In July of 2023, Paiden (vocals) and I were talking about starting a band, and by November we were writing and practicing. Shortly after Taylor joined on guitar. We went to Detroit for the Cold as Life reunion, and on the way home we decided on Ruff Puff."
Their sound in their own sound:
"Our style is mostly influenced by '80s New York hardcore, and '00s Boston hardcore – with inspiration from Think I Care, Breakdown, Mental, Outburst, and Sheer Terror."
Latest release info:
"For this release, we wanted to write songs that had aggressive percussion with bounce along with gritty and dynamic rhythms. The lyrics shine light onto the human shadow.
"We got started on pre-production in April of this year and finally recorded in July with help from Mitch Courtois who recorded, mixed, and mastered the demo in Welland, Ontario. Codey Thompson helped us out with production."
Future plans:
"Just keep playing shows, both locally and maybe across the border into Michigan and New York. Currently, we're writing new material to be released in the near future."
