Band: NME
From: Jacksonville, Florida
Their formation story:
(Colton, vocals): "Stephen (guitar) had the itch. Chey (drums) and Stephen linked up to jam for probably a year or so before anyone else came along. They wrote a gang load of songs then at some point Doug (bass) joined them. Eventually, Bege (guitar) and myself came to our first practice together, after that the band was fully formed and ready to rock. Long story short we’re just a bunch of homies and migrated toward one another."
Their sound in their own words:
"Our style ain’t nothing new; it’s tried and true. Our FFO would probably be something like Arkangel, Kickback, Earth Crisis, All Out War, Merauder, Integrity, and of course Hatebreed. Plus, fucking Skynyrd, Sabbath, and living in Jacksonville."
Latest release info:
"We just put out a single called World Please End. It’s got some groove, it’s got some fast. Check it out. Healthy Dose also put our first EP out on cassette. Those songs have been streaming since October but it’s now a proper release."
Future plans:
"We played a show last month that we booked ourselves. It was our first hometown show and we sold it out as the headliner, that was pretty fucking cool ya know. It felt huge for us. Now that’s out of the way we can focus on the next batch of songs.
"Most of the folks in NME have kids so writing and recording is the main focus of what little time we have. There has been some talk about hitting up regional shows close to home."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Magic Cross, Vanish Twin, Peptide, Rhythm of Fear, Shades of War, Pez, Rubes, Chaos Relic, Tiny Silver Hammers. Jam it, y’all."
