Band: Netherrealms
From: Portland, Oregon

Their formation story:
(Taylor Stelle, guitars): "The singer, Josh and I have been playing in bands for almost 20 years now together, our past bands include Bastard Feast and Hands of Thieves. We had been friends with Jordan the drummer for a long time and found him to be a great fit for the band. Alex the bass player also plays in a local band here called Tithe. We wanted to do something like we had done in the past but more melodic and straight forward.

"So we started writing what became our first album, Frantic Highs and Home Invasions, during the pandemic lockdown.

Their sound in their own words:
"Our sound is incredibly unique often blending a nightmare with something melodic. We wear our influences on our sleeve, but definitely for fans of Converge, Disfear, and Cursed in a general sense and we blend in some atmospheric elements from bands like Interpol, The Cure, Beastmilk.

"Our heavier side of the band is channeled from doom/black bands like YOB, Eyehategod, Leviathan, and Hell. We like to not be genre specific with what we play but it has a lot of those kinds of elements in it. Always evil and depressing, sometimes evil and triumphant."

Latest release info:
"Frantic Highs and Home Invasions was recorded by Stephen Hawkes at Interlace Audio. We had worked with him on previous albums for our past bands and the results are always huge, but this one we all felt like it was one of the best albums we'd done in our musical careers. 9 songs of conceptual insanity with some sort of pop sensibility we put into it."

Future plans:
"
Most of the goals are to just play more shows and build our name. keep writing always."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Definitely check out Asphalt and Magdalene. Rad upcoming bands on fringes of hardcore doing something awesome!"
