The Bay Area's history of powerviolence runs deep with such bands as Spazz, Godstomper, and No Le$$ all coming from the Northern California region. World Peace is a new trio that is keeping that spirit alive with their debut EP, The Most Noble Impulse of Man. With 10 songs all coming under the 8-minute mark, the EP keeps things short and sharp, the way this kind of music should be.

My favorite cut on The Most Noble Impulse of Man is "Compassion," an ugly bastard of a track that includes some blast riffs during its intro, and constant tempo shifts throughout its 40-second assault. Actually, that description can pretty much fit any other of the 9 songs on the EP, so if '90s-styled PV brings a smile to your face, World Peace is an act to look out for in 2018.
First Letter Press (the label owned by Anthony Anzaldo of Ceremony) is selling the cassette version of the World Peace EP, so do not sleep on it.
